Standard processing times are generally as follows:
Electronic registry information: 1–2 Japanese business days
Original paper certificate: 2–4 Japanese business days
Non-certified translation: additional 2–3 Japanese business days
Translation certified by LPA: additional 2–3 Japanese business days
Translation by a French Embassy-listed translator: additional 1-2 weeks
Apostille: additional 1 business week
Delivery: subject to the standard processing and delivery times of the selected courier service and destination.
Translation processing times run from the date on which the underlying document is available. Where several additional services are requested, such as an apostille and translation, the relevant processing times may be cumulative depending on the order in which the documents must be processed.
If a registration application or update is pending with the competent Legal Affairs Bureau, the relevant registry information or certificate may temporarily be unavailable. In such cases, we must wait until the registration has been completed and the registry updated. Depending on the jurisdiction and the nature of the filing, this may take up to approximately 6–7 weeks.
If a pending registration prevents us from obtaining the requested document, we will inform you promptly. You may then choose either to wait until the document becomes available or to request a refund of the amount paid for the document procurement service.
All processing times are indicative and may vary depending on the competent authority, translator, public holidays and circumstances beyond our control.
